A century-old lakeshore camp resort under the pines, where the wedding weekend comes with cabins, a marina, and an ice-cream parlor.
Camp Richardson has been putting people up on Lake Tahoe's south shore for about a century, and it hosts weddings the way it does everything else: informally, on the waterfront, with the pines doing the decorating. Groups of up to 100 gather at the Boathouse, in the Historic Hotel's lobby, or outside on patios, the restaurant deck, and lake-view picnic spots along Jameson Beach.
The resort's real advantage is its spread of lodging — hotel rooms, the Beachside Inn, freestanding cabins, a seven-bedroom house, and a campground — which lets a wedding absorb guests at every price point without leaving the property. Camp Richardson Hospitality runs the operation under a U.S. Forest Service permit, with an on-site catering program and a marina at the end of the road for the day after.
