Adventure-flavored hotel a block from the state line, with a beer garden, two hot tubs, and s'mores at the front desk.
Basecamp Tahoe South is the room block for the cohort that came to play: an adventure-themed hotel on Cedar Avenue, a short walk from both the Heavenly gondola and the Stateline casinos. The property runs on shared spaces — fire pits with front-desk s'mores, cornhole and giant Jenga in the yard, Trailfolk Coffee in the lobby from 7 a.m., and two hot tubs (one on the spa deck, one beside the beer garden).
That beer garden is the headline: South of North Brewing Co. pours its craft beers on site with house-made food and live music nightly in season. For a wedding weekend, that solves the unstructured Friday night without a reservation — guests drift downstairs, the band is already playing, and nobody drives anywhere.
Rooms run from standard kings to family rooms and a mountain-view suite, and the hotel actively courts group bookings. Pet-friendly rooms are available for the road-trippers ($40 one-time fee).
